What does MHQ stand for?

The MHQ name, like the company, has evolved during our 30 years in business. Originally, it stood for Municipal Headquarters. While our core customer segments are municipalities and emergency services departments, as we've expanded into other markets our name has become MHQ.

What are MHQ's hours of operation?

For your convenience our Marlborough MA, Shrewsbury MA and West Hartford CT business hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (Eastern) Monday through Friday. Our e-Commerce store is open 24 hours a day! Our retail store hours are 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Eastern) Monday through Friday. We are located at 401 Elm Street in Marlborough MA. And remember our e-Commerce store is always open!

Can anyone buy a vehicle from MHQ?

Due to binding agreements with major automobile manufacturers MHQ is limited to only selling vehicles to municipalities, related government accounts and those authorized to purchase under contracts that we honor.

If a vehicle is on an existing contract, is it necessary to go to bid ?

No. Fortunately, MHQ has many contracts in force in New England. Some customers find it easier and more convenient to access an existing contract versus creating and distributing a bid on their own. How long does a typical upfit take to complete?

Our practice is to begin an installation upon receipt of your order. With our extensive vehicle and equipment inventory we'll accumulate all items on the build sheet and schedule work, usually within hours. Installation time will vary based on the job's complexity but can often be completed in 48 hours or less. We'll provide an estimated completion date at time of order.

Does MHQ offer hybrid vehicles?

Yes! We have a large selection of Hybrid vehicles ready for delivery, many of which are included on existing contracts.

Does MHQ accept vehicles in trade?

Yes! We gladly accept trade-in vehicles and will work with you to establish a fair value.

Can I buy-back our trade?

No. Unfortunately, personal buy-backs aren't possible due to contractual limitations.

Yes! We are able to sell used police vehicles to municipalities and other approved entities.

Does MHQ have graphics samples that I can review?

Completed designs are the property of the respective entities and as such, we don't circulate sample books. However, MHQ's Sales Associates and in-house Graphics Department will work with you to create a unique graphics package for your organization.

Do you offer point-to-point vehicle delivery?

Yes! We will deliver new vehicles and/or pick-up trade-ins within New England. Also, MHQ's Service Team is happy to work with you to arrange vehicle transportation for upcoming service or maintenance orders.

How can I have my vehicle serviced?

We handle most installation, diagnostic, mechanical or electrical service in any of our three facilities. Our Marlborough MA Installation Service can be reached at: (508) 573-2632. For Vehicle Scheduled Maintenance or Quick Turn Service (smaller jobs) call: (508) 573-2642. For Truck Equipment Service please call our Shrewsbury location at: (508) 842-0866. Can MHQ paint entire vehicles?

Yes! In addition to striping, panel and spot paint repairs we can accommodate complete vehicle resprays. MHQ's Truck Equipment facility in Shrewsbury MA can also handle vehicles up to 50 feet in length.

I need service on my vehicle, can you do it while I wait?

Yes! MHQ now offers our new Quick Turn Service Program in Marlborough MA for smaller jobs usually completed in three hours or less. You're invited to stay while work is being done and visit our Retail Showroom. Alternatively, you may schedule an appointment for vehicle installations or service that will take longer. Please contact our Service Advisors who will recommend the best option for you at 508-573-2642.

How do I determine if my vehicle or equipment is still under manufacturer's warranty?

Due to the large variety of products and manufacturers there may be multiple warranties in effect. It's best to contact your MHQ Sales Associate who is responsible for managing your warranty information. We'll contact the manufacturer(s) directly regarding warranty inquires and will handle any claims on your behalf.

Can anyone buy equipment from MHQ?

Generally yes! However, sale of some emergency equipment is restricted to authorized purchasers, as dictated by state and local laws.

How long does it take to fill and ship my order?

Our well-stocked warehouses and efficient systems allow us to pick and pack your order the same business day. An in-stock order placed by 1:00 PM (Eastern) will be on its way to you that same day. Of course, allow normal UPS Ground shipping times. If you need expedited shipping, let us know.

Can products be returned?

We will accept returned goods in resaleable condition and in original manufacturer's packaging. Defective products may be exchanged without incurring a restocking fee. For returned goods (without exchange) a 25% restocking fee will be charged within 30 days of purchase provided product is returned unused and in its original manufacturer's packaging.

How are equipment repairs handled?

Our Service Department is ready to assist and get you up and running as soon as possible. Please return defective equipment to MHQ and we will work directly with the manufacturer to repair or replace it. We will keep you informed throughout the process.

I have an existing piece of equipment. Can you tell me if it is still covered under warranty?

If the equipment was supplied by MHQ we can usually provide this information. Contact your MHQ Sales Associate with its purchase date and supply contract, if any. We'll work with the manufacturer directly regarding warranty inquiries and will handle any claims on your behalf.

Can my order ship to an address that's different from my billing address?

Yes! We can accommodate shipments made to a different address provided it is on file for your account. Ship-To addresses are usually set-up when the account is established. This is done to ensure all orders placed on your account are legitimate.

No. Due to MHQ contractual relationships we are only authorized to ship to U.S. addresses.

How do I measure for my Body Armor vest?

How should my Body Armor vest fit?

Proper sizing is critical for protection and comfort. When standing-up straight the top center edge of the vest's front panel should be at the clavicle (breastbone) notch while the bottom edge should be about two inches above the top of your gun belt. The front and back panels should butt together or have a slight gap on your sides.

Do you guarantee my Body Armor vest will fit properly?

MHQ guarantees the custom fit of your vest for 60 days from date of purchase.

How should my Body Armor vest be maintained?

For comfort and long use your vest should be regularly laundered. To wash the carrier, remove ballistic panels and machine wash on gentle cycle only or by hand. Use cold or warm water and very mild soap. DO NOT use strong detergents or bleach.

Are there restricitons on who can purchase Body Armor?

Yes, all individuals purchasing BAE body armor will be required to complete the new BAE End User Certificate. This form verifies that you are authorized to own body armor for lawful purposes and commit to not reselling or giving the body armor to third parties. This new policy applies to all sales to individuals, including internet sales, and telephone orders. It does not apply to sales to US federal, state, and local agencies.
